Asitha Fernando is a Sri Lankan fast-medium bowler who has represented the country in international cricket. Born on July 10, 1997, he developed through domestic cricket and earned opportunities through his ability to bowl disciplined spells and challenge batters with movement. His seam bowling gives Sri Lanka an option that can be effective when conditions offer assistance to fast bowlers.

Fernando has gained international experience and has contributed to Sri Lanka's bowling attack in different match situations. While his role depends on conditions and team selection, his ability to maintain pressure and work through a batting order is valuable. His selection for the October 2026 ODI tri-series offers another opportunity to contribute as Sri Lanka builds its white-ball squad ahead of the 2027 World Cup.
