Dunith Wellalage is a Sri Lankan left-arm spin-bowling all-rounder who rose through the country's youth cricket system before becoming part of the senior national team. Born on January 9, 2003, in Colombo, he gained attention for his control with the ball and his ability to contribute useful runs. His style allows him to play different roles, whether the team needs economical spin, a breakthrough, or support in the lower middle order.

Wellalage has gained valuable international experience and continues to develop as a reliable white-ball option for Sri Lanka. His left-arm spin provides variety in an attack that can also include wrist-spin, off-spin, and pace. Selected for the October 2026 ODI and T20I squads, he remains an important young all-rounder as Sri Lanka prepares for upcoming international tournaments.
