Eshan Malinga is a Sri Lankan fast bowler who has earned selection in the national white-ball setup. He has developed through domestic cricket and has worked to build the pace, accuracy, and control needed to compete against international batters. Fast bowlers must learn to adjust their lengths to the pitch and match situation, and international selection offers an important opportunity to strengthen those skills.

Malinga was named in Sri Lanka's October 2026 ODI and T20I squads for the Pakistan tour and tri-series. His role provides an opportunity to add pace to the bowling attack and gain experience alongside senior players. Continued improvement in execution, consistency, and handling pressure will be important as he competes for a regular place in Sri Lanka's national teams.
