Vijayakanth Viyaskanth is a Sri Lankan leg-spinner who has progressed through domestic cricket and earned opportunities in the national T20I setup. Leg-spin can be an important attacking option because it offers the ability to turn the ball away from batters and create wicket-taking opportunities. Viyaskanth has continued to develop his bowling through competitive cricket and exposure to different playing conditions.

He was selected for Sri Lanka's T20I squad for the October 2026 series against Pakistan. This opportunity allows him to gain experience at international level and learn how to manage the demands of the shortest format. Building consistency, varying his pace intelligently, and maintaining composure against attacking batters will be central to his progress as an international bowler.
